The public will be welcome to share their thoughts on a three-county waste management plan for Southwest Michigan.

The Southwest Michigan Planning Commission is inviting public comment while they develop their new Regional Materials Management Plan for Berrien, Van Buren, and Cass Counties.

WSJM reports that the state requires counties to put plans in place for diverting materials away from landfills and promoting recycling. An online survey is already available, and a public comment period will be established after the plan is developed.

You can find the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SWMiMaterialsManagement
