A new microbiology study is raising alarms about just how dirty e-cigarettes can get when they’re not cleaned regularly.

HAYPP teamed up with a microbiologist to test everyday vape hygiene, and the findings were shocking.

After just three days of normal use, bacteria and fungi on a vape device were measured to be more than 2,300 times dirtier than a toilet seat.

Researchers detected several bacteria, including a faecal bacterium, E. coli, which are microbes commonly found in public restrooms.

Yeast and mold also grew rapidly, becoming too numerous for the lab to count by day three.
