Solar project construction causes unsafe roads in Pulaski County

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)
Construction on a major solar project is changing life on Pulaski County’s backroads.
Residents report heavy trucks making narrow roads unsafe, and authorities have issued 88 violations to construction vehicles, which could total $88,000 in fines.
Sheriff Fred Rogers says his department is stretched thin managing the extra traffic on top of regular patrols.
Officers are volunteering overtime, and help has been requested from state police and neighboring counties.
