The man accused in a July murder along the St. Joseph River in Elkhart will now face trial in March.
59-year-old Michael Hawkins Jr.’s jury trial was moved from January 5 to March 4.
The Goshen News says police found 50-year-old Anthony Null’s body in the river on July 17, and an autopsy confirmed he died from a gunshot wound.
According to court documents, witnesses told investigators the two men had argued earlier that day at a campsite near the river.
Detectives say blood evidence was found at the site and in a canoe linked to Hawkins.
He was arrested the next day and later charged with Null’s murder.
