Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left two people injured late Thursday night on County Road 10, just west of County Road 17.
The crash happened around 10:10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18. Police say a vehicle traveling eastbound moved into an adjacent lane and struck a 2013 Ford F-150 driven by a 49-year-old Osceola woman. The impact caused the truck to spin 180 degrees and strike a curb on the south side of the roadway, while the other vehicle went off the road into a ditch.
Byers was transported to the hospital with complaints of neck and back pain. A passenger in the truck, a 34-year-old Wakarusa woman, was also taken to the hospital with neck pain. Both were wearing seatbelts.
Investigators say the driver of the other vehicle fled the scene, and the crash remains under investigation.
