Five Indiana State Troopers at the Bremen Post and one from the Toll Road Post are receiving a new tool to help combat drugged and impaired driving.

The device is called the SoToxa Oral Fluid Mobile Test System.

The handheld system allows troopers to conduct roadside drug screening and detect up to seven drug classes within five minutes using a single oral fluid sample.

The system can identify THC, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, methamphetamine, fentanyl and more. These troopers are the first in Indiana to receive the upgraded fentanyl-detecting units.
