Indiana advances toward criminalizing doxing

(95.3 MNC)
Indiana took a step toward criminalizing doxing, this week, during a Senate committee approved a measure targeting the malicious online sharing of personal information.
The legislation would make it a crime to post someone’s information online with the intent to threaten or scare them.
Lawmakers narrowed the bill by removing coworkers from the definition of connected people and limiting “personal information” to just names.
The bill now moves to the full Senate, with further changes possible, said committee chair Sen. Aaron Freeman.
