A Goshen man is facing burglary charges following an incident last month.

Fray Mancilla appeared in court Thursday for a pretrial conference related to a December 22 burglary.

Elkhart County deputies say they were called around 3 p.m. after a homeowner reported seeing two men on her livestream camera attempting to enter a vacant home in the 21000 block of Indiana 119. Police later located two men leaving the area in a truck, identified as Mancilla and Eduardo Gonzalez.

According to The Goshen News, deputies discovered multiple items in the truck believed to have been taken from the home, including a gold clock, a globe and duffel bags containing marble statues.

Mancilla denied involvement, telling officers he was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

His jury trial is scheduled for April 6, with a status conference March 12.
