Former Goshen School Board candidate Andrea Johnson has now been sentenced following her conviction on campaign-related charges in Elkhart County.
Johnson received 18 months of probation for Filing a Fraudulent Report and 180 days of probation for Accepting a Contribution Made in Another’s Name. The sentences will run concurrently.
A jury found Johnson guilty during a trial in December 2025, making her the only person in the case to go to trial and the last to be sentenced.
The charges stemmed from a 2022 campaign mailing tied to Johnson’s school board run. The investigation also involved several sitting school board members and former Goshen Mayor Allan Kauffman, though Johnson was the only individual prosecuted through trial.

So former mayor Allen Kauffman and the rest of the school board have gotten off Scott free! I have heard that political corruption starts at the local level. I guess this proves it!
