The South Shore Line is about to look different, with riders seeing the first changes by the end of March.
The line has finished a major expansion that adds four new stations and nearly 30 more trains on weekdays and weekends.
The goal is to give commuters in Lake County more convenient options.
Nicole Barker, who oversees major projects for the South Shore Line, says the new stations are meant to match the growth in Lake County and bring service closer to where people live.
The project also introduces the Monon Corridor, the first branch off the main Lakeshore line.
For the first time, the system will include shuttle trains and transfers.
