An Elkhart man has been sentenced in a sexual misconduct case involving a minor.

20-year-old James Tinsley entered a plea agreement in November.

The Goshen News says he told the court he initially believed the teen was of age, but admitted he continued the relationship after learning otherwise.

Tinsley received five-year sentences on two counts, with a mix of prison, community corrections and probation.

A third charge of strangulation was dismissed as part of the agreement.
