Baugo Township tornado sirens still not working

unsplash.com
Two tornado sirens in Baugo Township still don’t work, leaving people worried they won’t get warned during storms.
Emergency managers say the problem isn’t just equipment.
The sirens were tied to another county’s system for years, and when that system changed, the link broke and no one caught it until a statewide test in March.
Now the sirens can’t be activated.
Fire Chief Jon Gonzales says they’re working on a fix. Emergency Management Director Jennifer Tobey says sirens shouldn’t be the only way people get alerts.
Leaders meet Monday to figure out next steps.
