Police say the Elkhart Police Department was called just before 2 p.m. on Monday, April 27, to the 2500 block of Links Drive, near Troon Court, after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting with injuries.

A couple of hours after the apartment shooting, Elkhart County SWAT were called to a house in the 28000 block of Golden Pond Trail, Elkhart, to assist the Elkhart County Homicide Unit with an attempt to locate a potential suspect.
A house fire had already been reported at this location. Local fire departments extinguished the fire. After the fire was extinguished, officers located a body inside the house.  At this time, official identification of the body has not been made.
