The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a scam involving fraudulent requests for inmate bond payments.
Officials say scammers are calling individuals and posing as Sheriff’s Office employees, asking for money to bond inmates out of jail.
Authorities stress that no employee will ever request bond payments over the phone.
All legitimate bond payments must be made in person using the kiosk located at the Sheriff’s Office on West Main Street in Warsaw.
Officials also emphasize that cash transactions and phone-based payments are not accepted under any circumstances.
Residents who receive such calls are urged to hang up immediately and contact dispatch. The public is also reminded not to share personal or financial information over the phone.
