Indiana AG investigates Karl King Tower

The Indiana Attorney General has finished its investigation into Karl King Tower in South Bend and is requiring major changes at the apartment building.
The review came after months of complaints about unsafe living conditions, including heating outages during winter from December 2025 into January 2026.
Tenants were given a 20% rent credit after the issues.
The property owner now has to fix the heating system by September 30, add security cameras, provide regular incident updates, and keep an on-site manager at the building.
