A theft at a Mishawaka nonprofit ended up catching the suspect on camera.
Police say 26-year-old Donte Cotton Jr. is charged after he allegedly stole a Ring doorbell camera from Angels in the Attic.
The device recorded the act as it was taken.
Leaders at the organization say the cameras are critical for safety, especially since the building has no windows and relies on cameras to see who is outside.
The nonprofit has supported more than 7,000 women and children over the past 15 years, many escaping abusive situations.
