A 49-year-old man is recovering after being shot in Benton Township late Friday night, June 19, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of South Fair Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities say he is expected to make a full recovery.

Investigators determined the shooting took place in the 900 block of Highland Avenue, several blocks away from where the victim was found.

Police have not released information about a suspect and no arrests have been reported.
