St. Adalbert’s Parish in South Bend is celebrating 100 years while working to preserve its historic church with a $15 million restoration project.
The church was built in 1926 to serve Polish-speaking immigrants and continues that mission today while also supporting Spanish-speaking immigrants and the broader community.
The parish provides English classes, citizenship classes and thousands of volunteer hours each year.
Church leaders say the parish contributes more than half a million dollars in community support.
