Crash involving horse and buggy under investigation

Three people were injured Monday evening in a crash involving a vehicle and a horse-drawn buggy on State Road 13.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened in the 62,000 block of State Road 13. A 2016 Chrysler Town & Country was traveling north when it struck the rear of a horse and buggy, which was also traveling north.

The driver of the Chrysler, a 51-year-old Elkhart man, reported head pain. The driver of the buggy, a 22-year-old Millersburg man, complained of pain throughout his body.

A 22-year-old passenger in the buggy was ejected during the crash. She suffered a facial laceration and also complained of pain throughout her body.

All three people were transported for medical treatment.

The investigation remains ongoing.
