Governor Mike Braun says Hoosiers in 21 counties hit by August’s severe storms will have more time to file and pay certain state and federal taxes.

The IRS and Indiana Department of Revenue are extending qualifying deadlines that fall between August 11th and February 1st. Affected individuals and businesses now have until February 1st, 2027.

The relief applies to people and businesses in counties including LaPorte, Lake, Porter, Pulaski, Hamilton, Marion and several others impacted by the storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding.

Braun says the extension gives families time to focus on recovery before dealing with tax paperwork and payments.
