A South Bend man has been convicted on eight federal felony counts involving methamphetamine and firearms.

A federal jury found 51-year-old DeCarlos Smallwood guilty following a four-day trial. The convictions include conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, distribution and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a felon, and discharging a firearm in connection with a drug-trafficking crime.

Smallwood is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 26, 2027.
