Worried about your teenager getting behind the wheel? A class offered in South Bend could help teen drivers manage everyday obstacles they could encounter while on the road.

The Tire Rack Street Survival program teaches young drivers how to manage emergency braking, skid control and navigating road hazards. The program includes a classroom session and hands-on training in a vehicle. Students learn in their own vehicles so that they can immediately take the lessons to use.

The one-day classes cost $75 are from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays June 18, July 16 and Aug. 20 at Tire Rack, 7101 Vorden Parkway, South Bend. The classes are open to permitted and licensed drivers ages 15 to 21. Graduates may qualify for car insurance discounts.
