CONCORD, Mich. (AP) Someone wasn’t eager to start the new school year in a Jackson County community.

The first day of classes in the Concord district was canceled Wednesday because tires were deflated on all 10 buses. Superintendent Dan Funston tells the Jackson Citizen Patriot there wasn’t enough time to refill the tires.

Funston says it’s “awfully disappointing,” especially after a successful open house Tuesday night.

Classes resumed on Thursday, although teachers didn’t get a break. They still had to report to classrooms Wednesday.

Of course, they don’t ride school buses.
