Potawatomi Zoo to benefit from popular annual hotdog eating contest

The Potawatomi Zoo is ready to profit from your indulgence.

The Waka Dog Café is hosing its 2nd annual Top Dog Challenge at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. Like last year, this year’s Top Dog Challenge will benefit the Potawatomi Zoo.

Three contestants took part last year and raised over $7,500 for the Zoo. However, this year promises to be even bigger. 11 participants have signed up from area businesses, and WNDU’s Terry McFadden will emcee the event.

Pledges are being taken for each contestant for each hot dog that is eaten. Proceeds will go directly to the Potawatomi Zoo’s Master Plan campaign.

Each contestant will have 10 minutes to eat as many hot dogs as possible. The winner will be this year’s Top Dog. Throwing up makes you a loser, however.
