Lowell couple found dead with gunshot wounds identified

LOWELL, Ind. (AP) — Authorities have released the names of two 61-year-olds found dead with gunshot wounds in northwest Indiana.

Lake County coroner’s office says James and Patricia Carlin of Lowell were pronounced dead Tuesday and both died from a gunshot wound. The (Northwest Indiana) Times reports manner of death was pending further investigation.

Lowell police Chief Erik Matson said there is no threat to public safety, but didn’t release more details on the circumstances of the deaths. Investigators want to talk to family members.
