It was a dicey situation in South Bend Friday afternoon.

A car ended up sliding off the road and onto the top of a retention pond near the Wal-Mart on Portage Ave. around noon Friday, according to ABC 57.

The car slid off the road because the driver was trying to avoid a pedestrian, according to fire officials.

The uninjured driver was able to get out of the car and walk back up the hill away from the pond. The car never crashed through and was removed by a tow truck with no damage done.
