A threat made on social media by a Penn High School student has been deemed “not credible” by St. Joseph County Police and school officials.

The threat was posted on Thursday, Dec. 22.

A St. Joseph County School Resource Officer alerted school officials, who interviewed the student on Friday morning.

The posting has limited exposure on the internet and the student did not realize the magnitude of his actions, according to a letter sent to parents from Penn High School Principal Steven Hope.

There is no word whether the student will face any disciplinary action.
