A woman accused of beating her mother to death is now charged with murder. This, after Mary Claypool, 85, of Mishawaka, was taken off life support and died.

Claypool had been hospitalized since Tuesday, March 8, when she was allegedly beaten by her daugher, Annette Beedle, 59.

On Thursday, Beedle was charged with attempted murder.

The charged was amended to murder on Friday after the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office learned Claypool had died.

Court documents say Beedle called 911 that afternoon and said “I just tried to kill my mom. I beat her with a fire extinguisher.”

Claypool’s visitation will take place Tuesday afternoon, with her funeral to follow at Hahn Funeral Home in Mishawaka, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.
