A South Bend man is facing two counts of armed robbery after he allegedly stole money from a local liquor store.

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office formally charged 28-year-old Duron Keys this week following Saturday evening’s robbery. The robbery took place at about 7:45 p.m. Saturday at the Belmont Beverage on North Portage Avenue.

Keys allegedly came in the store wearing a gray hoodie, blue shirt, and black pants. An employee says he went to the counter with a case of beer, then pulled out a gun and demanded money from the cash registers.

Keys fled the store, but his uncovered face was reportedly seen in video cameras, and he was found a short time later on Lincolnway, along with a bag of cash and a gray hoodie inside an abandoned vehicle nearby.
