The mugshot of 25-year-old Taylor Hardy tells a tale of a rough night in Elkhart.

Hardy is accused of getting into a fight with a 33-year-old woman shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday at a home in the 100 block of Potawatomi Street, according to the Elkhart Truth.

It reportedly started as a verbal argument, but it turned physical when Hardy hit the victim in the face and on her back, according to court documents.

From there, the victim’s memory gets hazy, but witnesses say that Hardy held a knife during the fight. The victim was treated at Elkhart General Hospital for cuts to her arm and face.

Hardy claims that she was attacked by the victim and a third unidentified woman first. When officers went to arrest her, she reportedly tried to pull away.

She’s in custody at the Elkhart County Correctional Facility on no bond and faces a felony charge of battery causing serious injury and a misdemeanor charge of resisting law enforcement.

The Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the case to determine if anyone else will be charged.
