One of the members of the Jaquez drug ring in Elkhart County has been sentenced on his meth dealing and corrupt business influence charges.

53-year-old Alejandro Nava Rodriguez received the maximum 30-year sentence for each of the five counts of methamphetamine dealing he was facing, along with five years for corrupt business influence.

However, the Elkhart Truth reports that all of the prison terms were ordered to be served simultaneously, meaning he’ll only spend a total of 30 years in prison.

His co-defendant, Enedeo Rodriguez Jr., was sentenced to 34 years in prison last month on the same charges. Both are believed to be high-level members of a large drug ring run by Luis Jaquez, who will have his trial in November.

Members of the drug ring were arrested in November 2016. The drug ring is believed to be the largest in Elkhart County history.
