More legal trouble ahead for an inmate at the Marshall County Jail.

Zachary Cowger was previously locked up in connection to two pending cases involving charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon, battery resulting in bodily injury to a police officer and other counts.

Now, add to that, a separate charge of battery resulting in injury upon a public safety officer.

This, after prosecutors say Cowger violated jail rules then, angry his cell door was closed. ABC 57 News reports when an officer confronted Cowger, he retaliated, hitting the officer several times.

Formal charges have now been filed.
