Mishawaka hasn’t given up hope on its deteriorating 100 Center.

The former site of a historic former brewery previously gained new life in the 1970s and 1980s as a retail complex featuring over three-dozen stores and restaurants. Nowadays, it’s a mostly neglected part of local history.

The South Bend Tribune reports that a big reason for that is the property’s current owner: AA Access Corp. out of LaGrange, Ill. The group bought the property in a land contract deal in 2009, but hasn’t done much with it since then and won’t return Tribune phone calls about it.

The company currently owes over $10,000 on code enforcement violations at the site, which used to be home to the Kamm and Schellinger Brewery that dates back to 1853.
