The final curtain was drawn at the legendary Star Plaza in Merrilville on Sunday.

The venue has seen plenty of shows over the years, but no one played the Star Plaza more than The Oak Ridge Boys, who closed the theater with their 111th show there since 1979, the year it opened.

They were presented a special plaque after the show, thanking them for being the only act to perform there every year of the Star Plaza’s existence.

The 3,4000-seat venue will be razed in the new year to make way for a new development.
