A flash in the sky that was seen in southwestern Michigan and northern Indiana Tuesday night was indeed real.
Experts are now confirming that the bright light and sound like thunder in the sky was in fact a meteor. The American Meteor Society received hundreds of reports, including video, of the fireball streaking across the sky.
It was also spotted from Missouri, to Pennsylvania, to Ontario.
Some Michigan residents reported their homes shaking, and the U.S. Geological Service says the space rock registered as a 2.0 magnitude earthquake in Michigan when it broke apart in the atomsphere.
No one was injured, but the event shook up Facebook and Twitter from curious onloookers.
