Remodeled Ireland Road Aldi location re-opens to customers

A shopping staple on the south side of South Bend is back in business.

The Aldi store on East Ireland Road in South Bend has reopened. It had been closed for about six weeks as it finished up a major renovation project.

The South Bend Tribune reports that the store now features new signage, upgraded lighting, and energy-efficient coolers. The store also added about 3,000 feet in square footage to make it 18,000 square feet.

It’s part of a movement Aldi is making nationwide to modernize their stores. Renovations are also done in Warsaw and Plymouth and a completely new store was built in Elkhart.

The next store for remodeling will be the Bendix Drive location, followed by the Mishawaka store.
