A man who is charged with helping make, then throwing two pipe bombs in Mishawaka will not be leaving jail anytime soon.
A judge ruled this week that 22-year-old Jacob Underwood was still a danger to the community and ordered him to remain in St. Joseph County jail. The South Bend Tribune reports Underwood appeared for a probable cause and detention hearing.
The judge did rule that, if he found an in-patient drug treatment facility that he couldn’t check out of, he’d reconsider holding him with no bond. Underwood is also facing a meth charge.
Court documents say that he may have been involved with other pipe bombs found in Elkhart and Marshall Counties, but he’s denying those claims. Another source claims Underwood may have had a bag with up to 20 pipe bombs, but he also is denying that claim as well.
