Two injured in South Bend shooting/stabbing incident

Police are still piecing together what happened in an attack late Wednesday night that left one person shot, and their suspected attacker arrested with a stab wound.

It began with a report of a shooting sometime after 11 PM in the 600 block of West Lasalle Avenue, according to the South Bend Police. A few minutes later, police confirmed a suspect with a possible stab wound was apprehended in the 600 block of East Mishawaka Avenue in Mishawaka.

The shooting victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition. No comment has been made on the stabbing victim’s condition.

Police have confirmed that the shooting victim is a person of interest in the stabbing, just as the stabbing victim is a person of interest in the shooting.
