Repairs being made to Morris Performing Arts Center

(Spencer Marsh/95.3 MNC)

South Bend’s historic Morris Performing Arts Center is almost ready to get back in the concert business.

A repair plan is in place to put up some safety netting near the ceiling to temporarily resolve the issue that saw a piece of plaster plummet to the floor.

Concerns about safety led to three scheduled performances being moved to other venues.

The September 22nd concert by the South Bend Symphony is still scheduled to happen at Notre Dame’s DeBartolo Center instead, but the Morris expects to be ready for the Modest Mouse concert on September 24th.
