Homeland Security: “homegrown extremists” among biggest threats to schools

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security says one of the biggest threats toward Indiana schools comes from within.

WRTV in Indianapolis got access to a nine-page report from an intelligence briefing sent across the state, and it lists the top three threats as “active shooters,” “cyber attacks,” and “teenage homegrown violent extremists”.

The FBI says those are teens based in the US and inspired by “global jihad”, and they’re a big concern for law enforcement because they could pull off an attack with little to no warning.

The good news is many Indiana police agencies say the chances of that happening in Indiana is actually “very low.”
