South Bend Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Spells has announced he will resign his position, effective in June 2019.

Spells made the announcement on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 6.

Spells is leaving the post to pursue a job opportunity in Illinois, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

The South Bend School Board has appointed Dr. Todd Cummings as Deputy Superintendent and has ensured a smooth transition.
