16-year-old boy shot and killed in South Bend identified

Two juvenile males were shot on N. Brookfield Street in South Bend.

As many as nine shots were fired in the shooting, which happened around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13.

Both victims were taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment. A 16 year-old boy, identified as Ajurin Blake, died of his injuries. An 18 year-old man was treated and released.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit was called to the scene to investigate.

There was no word of any suspects or arrests as of mid-morning on Monday, Jan. 14.
