Indiana farmers made a lot of progress last week planting their crops, even as constant spring rains left them far behind the normal schedule.

A new U.S. Department of Agriculture report shows 67 percent of Indiana’s expected corn crop is now planted. That’s more than double the 31 percent reported on June 2nd but well off the five-year average of 98 percent.

Indiana trails most states, but Ohio is at the lowest level with only 50 percent planted.
