Elkhart police are looking into a possible abduction attempt.

A 17-year-old girl was walking home from a friend’s house, last week, and at the corner of Hudson and Fremont Streets a man in a van drove up next to her, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

The alleged suspect asked the teenager to get in his vehicle, and when she refused he drove away, ABC 57 reported.

Elkhart Police say it’s an important reminder to talk to your children about what to do in a scenario like that.

The man was described as white, in his early 50, with short gray hair and white facial hair.

Anybody with information is asked to contact Elkhart Police.
