Police in St. Joseph, Michigan investigated a bomb threat Thursday morning at the YMCA.

YMCA employees received a call just after 7 a.m. from someone claiming they’d put a bomb in the building. The caller didn’t give any information as to where the bomb was placed, or when it may explode.

The bomb squad responded to the incident, and checked out the building with a bomb-sniffing K9 unit.

After searching the area, police could not find a bomb, or any sort of suspicious package, at the location.

The all-clear was given shortly before 9 a.m. and the staff were allowed to return to the building.

Later on Thursday, police identified a suspect in the incident. Mario Adonis Cummings, 48 of Benton Harbor, confessed to making the false bomb threat telephone call.

Cummings was employed by the YMCA at the time of the call.

He was arrested and booked into the Berrien County Jail, and faces one count of Making Terrorist Threat or False Report of Terrorism, which is a felony.
