As Michigan approaches anniversary of first COVID cases, it also nears 600K confirmed cases

Michigan is approaching 600 thousand total COVID-19 cases.

Monday the Department of Health & Human Services reported a total of 598,014 Michiganders have tested positive for the coronavirus. That number included an additional 1,960 cases since Saturday.

The Department also reports an additional 60 thousand-plus Michiganders identified as “probable” cases for COVID-19, as well as 992 probable deaths.

The state’s COVID-19 fatality rate is currently at 2.6%.

The first two cases of COVID-19 were reported in the state on March 10th of last year.
