BBB: Donate carefully when natural disasters strike this spring

Spring brings a greater chance for natural disasters across the country, and that also means we can see the charitable side of people who want to help those that are impacted. But Marjorie Stephens of the BBB reminds us that the desire to do good can also help line the pockets of people looking to take advantage of the generous.

An example of a charity you can trust would be the American Red Cross. If you have questions about a group you’ve donated to, whether you lose money or not, you can report it to BBB’s Scam Tracker at BBB.org/ScamTracker and the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov
