A child literacy program that began in Indianapolis recently is already starting to grow across the Hoosier State.

Hoosiers Read has expanded into four other counties thanks to a $1 million grant from the CenterPoint Energy Foundation. The funding brings Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to more parts of Indiana.

The program currently supports more than 18,000 children over five years, according to Inside Indiana Business. Parton’s program gives one free book each month to children between the ages of 0 and 5.

Hoosiers Read’s ultimate goal is to bring the program to all 92 counties.
