New evidence results in a Benton Harbor man’s release from prison.

After 16 years, new evidence results in a Benton Harbor man’s release from prison.

In 2005, Corey McCall was convicted and sentenced to life in prison after being found an accomplice to a triple murder.

The Attorney General’s Conviction Integrity Unit has now found new evidence that points to the actual gunman admitting that McCall was never at the scene of the crime.

A Judge in Berrien County on Friday granted McCall his freedom.

According to WNDU, prosecutors issued a statement saying that setting aside the conviction cannot begin to adequately compensate Mr. McCall for what he has lost.
