New law in effect in Indiana for OWIs related to marijuana use

There’s a new OWI law in Indiana that affects marijuana use and driving…

It’s one of the new laws that went into effect on July 1st, according to WSBT. It updates the way people can defend themselves after being involved in a serious crash while under the influence of pot.

The law’s authors say it “better reflects the widely accepted view that you are no longer impaired several days after consuming marijuana. One of them, Indiana State Senator Mike Bohacek, says THC metabolites can stay active in your system for up to a couple weeks.
